Discover the Story Behind A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Nurse's Station
At a funny thing happened on the way to the nurse's station, we believe in the magic of storytelling that brings joy and laughter to adult readers. Our journey began in New Jersey, where Debby, a devoted storyteller and humor enthusiast, dreamed of creating a space filled with true stories. Inspired by the many patients she has cared for over the years, Debby's book is her delightful contribution to the world of nonfiction medical humor.

Debby Torres, the heart and soul of A Funny Thing Happened, is a passionate author who finds humor in the little things. Her whimsical stories are real-life experiences that bring a giggle and a grin, reminding us all that laughter is the best medicine!
Debby has been some type of nurse for 51 years. She started out as an LPN, then obtained a two-year RN degree, then a BSN followed by two Master's degrees, one in Public Administration and the other as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in a variety of settings including Medical Surgical, Hospice, Prison, Doctor's offices, Nursing Homes, Kidney transplant, Case Management and Psychiatric Units. She is currently employed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Delaware and New Jersey. Having worked through the Covid pandemic, she was feeling the stress along with everyone else and was encouraged to use humor to deal with it. This book is the result.
